Introduction of 2024 TRON Symposium
The year 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of TRON Project since its inception in 1984. In this memorable year, TRON Project has once again received a prestigious recognition.
“The Pioneering TRON Intelligent House, 1989” has been recognized as an IEEE Milestone this year following the TRON Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) family recognized last year. This is a remarkable achievement in that TRON Project has received IEEE Milestones at both the bottom and top ends of the computer system stack, from the RTOS, an infrastructure technology to its application in IoT housing.
The project has expanded from the infrastructure of embedded systems to the concepts of smart houses and smart cities. In response to the rapid development of generative AI technology in recent years, TRON Project has actively been exploring the use of AI in all aspects, from the development of RTOS to the optimal control of the IoT.
This year's TRON Symposium will review the achievements of the past 40 years, and discuss the new possibilities that TRON Project will open up through its fusion with AI. The symposium is an opportunity to share the past, present, and future prospects of TRON Project through the keynote speech and each session.
Introduction to the exhibition content: The latest technology and other exhibits will be displayed by the organizer and exhibitors.
Development environment for IoT edge nodes
µT-Kernel 3.0, used as a development environment for IoT edge nodes, is an RTOS specification which is fully compliant with “IEEE 2050™-2018,” the international standard OS specification for IoT edge nodes adopted by Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The detailed specification of µT-Kernel 3.0, the road map of TRON Forum's RTOS Family, and products that incorporate µT-Kernel 3.0 are introduced. As an RTOS suitable for IoT edge nodes, its collaboration with AI and applications to smart buildings are also introduced.
Applications
TRON Project has also been building platforms for applications. The projects are introduced in collaboration with the Association for Open Data of Public Transportation (ODPT) on the application of open data collaboration, and Association for IoT Services Coordination, a general incorporated association (AIoTS) to promote Personal Data Store (PDS) as a basis for collaboration among services, Open Smart UR Study Group to establish an ideal housing platform for the digital age, Organization for Vitalization of Local Economy by Digital transformation, a general incorporated association (VLED) to realize digital transformation (DX) in local regions, enPiT-Pro for recurrent education, etc.
Overseas / National and Local Governments
Activities of governments such as the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in Japan and overseas activities in cooperation with TRON Project are introduced.
Seminars at the exhibition venue
At the exhibition venue, seminars on cutting-edge technology by exhibitors, and various seminars will be held including one on µT-Kernel 3.0 WG members, how to use public transportation open data, etc.
