From Feasibility Study Experiments of Ubiquitous Location Information Infrastructure to its Practical Applications

The Ubiquitous Location Information Infrastructure has been used in feasibility study projects conducted by the private sector, government and local governments including the "Tokyo Ubiquitous Technology Project" by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, "Mobility Support Project" by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, "Special Ubiquitous Zone Project" and "Ubiquitous Town Project" by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the "e-Space Feasibility Study Project" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and "e-Regional Resource Utilization Project" by Japan Foundation For Regional Vitalization (Furusato Foundation). Building practical systems based on the Ubiquitous Location Information Infrastructure has been also promoted. We furthermore plan to mature the system and improve the quality in the future.
