 Building Infrastructure Services Using ucode

Infrastructure systems to issue ucodes using the web to associate them with information related to objects and places have been released one after another recently.

ucoder: ucode Universal Information Service

ucoder is a service that allows anyone to easily issue ucodes and associate information with them. ucoder can be used with a personal computer connected to the Internet and a printer as well as mobile phones with a barcode reading function.
When a ucoder account is created, a maximum of 100 ucodes can be issued. Various information such as sightseeing information, public asset management information, equipment and inventory information, appealing features of products, and blog pages can be associated with issued ucodes. Since information associated with the ucodes can be changed dynamically, when a problem occurs to an object with an issued ucode, the associated information can be updated and notification on the problem can be provided.
ucoder can define and update association between ucodes and information irrespective of the application used. Therefore, ucoder can serve as infrastructure for various applications and services.

u-Location: Space Infrastructure Service
line

"Deployment of u-Location, a space infrastructure service based on the ubiquitous ID architecture, is set to begin. u-Location is a universal location information system that allows anyone to associate content with logical places identified by ucodes freely anytime. Let us take an example of creating a system to provide sightseeing information for regional revitalization. Using u-Location, it is easy to build such a system where interesting information of the place can be obtained from ucodeQR attached to that place and entire location information you are interested in can be browsed on a PC screen. Building such a sightseeing application only requires selecting the place on a map from a GUI screen, issuing ucodes for the place, and associating content with the issued ucodes. Moreover, u-Location can be used for various purposes such as sales promotion in shopping arcades and restaurant guides.
In u-Location, location information is described with ucR. Various meta information related to the place is managed in ucR and superimposed with other information such as a map, etc. in the application. Since such superimposition (mashup) is easily realized by using a ucR SOAP API, the location information of u-Location will be available in various applications in the future.
