The Centre for High Performance Embedded Systems (CHiPES) is an embedded systems research and development centre at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. CHiPES was a founding member of the T-Engine Application Development Centre (TEADEC) in Singapore, the first such centre outside Japan. TEADEC was set up in October 2003, and since then, CHiPES and NTU have used the T-Engine in teaching, student projects and R&D projects. Short training for staff at UNL, followed by in-depth training conducted by Renesas System Solutions in Singapore, laid the foundations of CHiPES's involvement with the T-Engine.
At TRONSHOW2010, CHiPES will demonstrate its work with the T-Engine platform at all levels. CHiPES has already successfully demonstrated the T-Kernel running on three different Infineon TriCore processors: TC1775, TC1130 and TC1797. CHiPES has also extended the project to make development on the TriCore T-Engine more interactive by including various modules like TM-Console, IMS, TCP/IP Stack, file system and other middleware. This platform is now being used at CHiPES to develop a real-time image processing application. In addition, CHiPES is actively researching RTOS-based Dynamic Power Management for the T-Engine. This research tackles the various stages of application development with power savings in mind.
