What is ucode?

• Unlike product number or lot number, ucode is a number to identify individual physical object and place in the real world.
• ucode is just a number and the number has no meaning.
  

How to obtain ucode

• If you become a T-Engine Forum member, you can obtain approximately 281 trillion ucodes. Please visit T-Engine Forum booth for details on the membership application.
• Individuals can also issue ucode by using web services such as ucoder (http://www.ubin.jp/ucoder/) anytime.

 

■ucode can be attached to any places.

ucode can be issued for places from wide area such as countries and regions to narrow area such as individual desks and shelves independently of the accuracy. The deployment of u-Location: Space Information Service utilizing this feature will be launched. u-Location is a universal location information system which allows anyone to associate content with logical places identified by ucode freely anytime. ■ucode can be attached to anything.

ucode is not tied to a single type of a tag (tag agnostic). The tags which have been certified by Ubiquitous ID Center as suitable tags to store ucode are listed on the following URL.

ucode can be attached to physical objects and associated with various information on the network. For example,

 

	● When ucode is attached to food product You can register traceability information, recipe, message from the manufacturer, expiration date, etc. and refer to them.
	● When ucode is attached to home electric appliances There is no hassle to look for a manual if the web page of user guide, how to use them, etc. is associated with home electric appliances. In the event of recall, the manufacturer can notify the users immediately.
	● When ucode is attached to a photo Even after giving the photo to someone else, you can change the information. For example, you can make some parts of information inaccessible to unauthorized people due to privacy reasons.
	● When ucode is used at an office ucode can be used for inventory management and equipment management.
