VTT Technical Research Center of Finland is the biggest multi-technological contract research organization in Northern Europe. VTT provides high-end technology solutions and innovation services. From its wide knowledge base, VTT can combine different technologies, create new innovations and a wide range of world class technologies and applied research services, thus improving its clients’ competitiveness and competence. Through its international scientific and technology networks, VTT can produce information, upgrade technology knowledge, and create business intelligence and value added for its stakeholders.
VTT’s turnover from commercial activities covers more than 30% of total income in 2008. This explains how well VTT contributes to clients’ business creation. Commercial activity is managed by ten customer sectors; Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical and food industries, Electronics, Energy, ICT, Process industry and environment, Real estate and construction, Machine and vehicles, Services and logistics, and Forest industry.
VTT has contact points in Tokyo, Silicon Valley, Shanghai, Seoul and St. Petersburg outside of Europe.
TRON has become a part of VTT’s technology portfolio via open mobile and embedded system architecture NoTA and its latest extension, Smart-M3 that is the information level interoperability solution enabling new services in smart environments. VTT has been an active member of NoTA and Smart-M3 communities since the very beginning and has acted as an organizer of International NoTA conferences. The in-depth knowledge about these open solutions combined with multi-technological and multi-domain competencies enable VTT to assist our partners in creating global businesses.
