Portable Audio Meter for Measuring Hearing Loss in a Patient.
At RP, a student project using T-Engine platform has been under way under the guidance of Dr. Lim Chai Soon.
T-Engine is used build a portable audio meter.
The main motivation for this project is to devise a new method for measuring hearing loss that is acceptable as a supplement to the existing audiometry system.
Existing audiometry system in the hospital today often involves expensive equipments with dedicated sound proof room and such resources are not found in every hospital, therefore waiting period for an appointment to perform the test can be very long.
In this project, T-Engine is used as a platform for providing audiometry test sequence, patients are to put on a pair of good headphones and with easy to use and intuitive software user interface, patients will then be able to perform their hearing test evaluation.
