Altera is a leading supplier of Programmable Logic Device, providing leading-edge programmable solutions in the industry. Altera has been addressing embedded hardware and software market since announcement of Nios® soft-core embedded processor in 2000. Especially for Japanese market, Altera has engaged partnership with key vendors in the embedded system industry in Japan, and has been jointly supporting micro ITRON with those partners. Nios® II, the latest version of Nios processor series, has been enhanced the RTOS, middlewares, and software debug environment as well as Nios II IDE (Integrated Development Environment). Nios II IDE is provided by Altera as a part of Nios II.
Altera provides on improvement tool of system performance “C2H (C-to-Hardware) acceleration compiler”.
Altima, a distributor of Altera in Japan, recently developed micro T-Engine board with Nios II processor core implemented in Altera FPGA “Cyclone®” and T-Kernel has being implemented by Personal Media (PMC). Altima, PMC and Altera jointly announced those boards as the micro T-Engine/Nios II Development Kit. Hardware extension board has also announced, which allows all T-Engine and micro T-Engine development boards enable to add user logic functions on T-Engine platform for quick co-development of software and hardware.
