This booth exhibits technology which controls Information Appliance via networks using a ubiquitous communicator and uID.
At NTT Cyber Solutions Laboratories belong to NTT Cyber Communications Laboratory Group, various Information Appliance are being connected to networks in preparation for an era of the full-fledged spread of a broadband society and a ubiquitous network society in the future. Cyber Solutions Laboratories is carrying out research and development with the aim of realizing new services that had not been possible until now, through the organic operation of individual devices. Currently, research and development is being carried out on configuration types and protocols for middleware for allowing various Information Appliance to be handled easily, like existing remote controls for televisions and air conditioners.
At this TRONSHOW, you will get a glimpse of the fruits of this research. Taking a business-use case, we display an example of a system that allows business devices in an office to be used SIMPLY and SMOOTHLY using a ubiquitous communicator and uID. The system is intended to be used in a videoconference (a network-connected meeting held with one or more distant conference rooms), which enables the participants to make exchanges without being aware of the distance.
We would like to brush up the protocol suite that led to the realization of this demonstration through joint testing with the Sakamura Laboratory at the University of Tokyo and other efforts going forward.
Those of you who are interested in this exhibit are invited to speak with the booth staff. However, please take note that this display is a feasibility study by Cyber Solutions Laboratories and not research results or a tangible or intangible product.
